Diesel engines are outfitted with a Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) system designed to diminish nitrogen oxide emissions by eliminating oxygen. Comprising sensors, SCR catalysts, and a metering system, it introduces ammonia via AdBlue to the exhaust gases, reducing nitrogen oxides by nearly 90% and transforming them into benign nitrogen.
