Website & service disclaimer
Please read this information before booking or authorising tuning work. It summarises important points about vehicle condition, tuning outcomes, payments, warranties and customer responsibilities.
Bookings, deposits and attendance
A deposit may be required to secure an appointment. If you need to rearrange, contact us as early as possible. Deposits, call-out charges, diagnostic time, programming time or other charges may become non-refundable where time or travel has already been committed, or where work cannot proceed because of undisclosed faults, previous calibration, incompatible hardware/software or vehicle condition. Any applicable charge should be confirmed for the specific booking.
Vehicle condition and information you provide
You are responsible for making us aware of relevant vehicle history, warning lights, previous tuning, hardware modifications, mechanical faults and other information that may affect the work. A remap does not repair worn or faulty mechanical components.
Vehicles should be maintained in accordance with the manufacturer's recommendations. Components such as clutches, turbochargers, injectors, ignition parts, sensors, intake systems, DPF/EGR/SCR components and gearboxes are serviceable mechanical parts and may fail independently of software work.
Tuning results and inherent risk
Power, torque, drivability and fuel-consumption figures are estimates unless a result is measured under controlled conditions. Actual results vary with the exact engine/ECU/TCU version, fuel, hardware, condition, previous modifications, environment and driving style. No fixed power or fuel-saving result is guaranteed.
ECU/TCU programming carries an inherent technical risk. Professional tools and recovery methods reduce risk but cannot eliminate every possibility of interrupted programming, pre-existing ECU faults or unrelated hardware failure. Where a fault is identified before work, we may recommend repair or further diagnosis before tuning continues.
Software support and mechanical warranty
Where software support or warranty is supplied, it applies to the calibration work covered by the agreed service and does not create a warranty for unrelated mechanical parts or pre-existing faults. If you believe a software-related issue has developed, contact Boost Remaps promptly so the vehicle and calibration can be assessed before third-party changes are made.
Software support may be affected if another tuner, dealer or garage overwrites or alters the ECU/TCU software after our work. Return-to-stock, later modifications or additional programming may carry a charge depending on the work required.
Road-use and emissions compliance
For vehicles used on public roads, manufacturer-fitted emissions-control equipment must remain compliant with applicable UK road-use and MOT requirements. Boost Remaps' public-road offering is diagnostics, fault investigation, repair-oriented advice and lawful vehicle-specific calibration; we do not present emissions-control defeat as a public-road service.
Sound-related or motorsport-oriented options are vehicle-specific and may not be appropriate or lawful for public-road use. The vehicle owner remains responsible for the vehicle's lawful use, insurance, roadworthiness and any required declarations to insurers or other authorities.
Payment and finance
Payment terms depend on the booked service and payment method. Where a third-party finance or payment provider is used, that provider's own terms, cancellation process and eligibility rules also apply. Please ask before work starts if you need clarification about the amount due, deposit treatment or payment schedule.
Before we start
Please tell us about previous ECU/TCU tuning, warning lights, known faults and relevant modifications. If anything is unclear, contact us before your appointment so we can confirm the appropriate next step.
